Materials science | Sustainable metallurgy

Materials science, metallurgy, and sustainable metals processing.

I am a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials in Düsseldorf, Germany. My research focuses on hydrogen plasmas for sustainable production of metals and recycling.

About

From curiosity about materials to sustainable processing.

Materials have fascinated me since I began studying metallurgical and materials engineering in 2016. I am especially interested in the atomic and sub-atomic scale, where structure, defects, interfaces, and chemistry control the properties we observe at larger scales.

My interests include solid-state physics, physical metallurgy, plasticity of materials, nano-characterization techniques, atomistic simulations, and sustainable metals processing. I have worked with molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations to investigate grain-boundary segregation in alloys, and with nano-characterization methods to study low-temperature thermoelectric materials.
